My Mom, Carol (Mich.) and my Aunt Glennie (Wisc.) are staying at the Villages for 2 weeks. They are spending this coming weekend in Sarasota and will arrive and meet me at 3 pm Saturday at the University Park CC Golf Pro Shop. Anyone who would like to come by and say a quick hi to my 2 biggest fans, see you Saturday at 3!

Congratulations to Mike Kirby and Suzanne Ryan for their wedding this summer! Saturday’s Sarasota party celebrating this Canadian/University Park CC couple was sure a blast – dinner, dancing, cake, friends roasting friends — music was superb, and we have a few more possibilities for ‘Dancing w/ the Stars’.

Here at University Park CC in the Sarasota, FL area, two members’ clinics were conducted to welcome our players back for our winter season (Nov.-April). Today’s clinic featured 37 Ladies divided into 3 stations: Full swing, bunker, and chipping/putting. Instruction, refreshments, fruit and granola bars were provided! And what a beautiful day — 79 degrees and sunny!

UPCC Golf Professionals Ashley Hayden, Bill Tawney and I thank everyone who attended today’s session as well as the 13 in yesterday’s Men’s clinic for their participation and kind words. It was a great kickoff! Let’s all enjoy this fine sport and the company of such wonderful friends and neighbors!

I am so glad that I live in a state which allows early voting (Oct. 18-30). Going late in the day last Thursday was a snap – you won’t see me in line tomorrow, Nov. 2nd!

My brush with this Year’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ cast!

Florence Henderson was a guest star at our Pro-am at Victoria National CC, and that day I happened to have made a hole-in-one on #11! My Tenth!

And at the Hy-Vee Classic in Des Moines, Kurt Warner was in attendance at the dinner party.

I thought best golf shot for 2010 was Mickelson’s 6-iron on #13 at the Masters. Nope, best was #Jonathan Byrd’s 4th playoff hole Victory last weekend at The Justin Timberlake Shriner’s Event in Las Vegas. Nearly dark, Hole #17— 6-iron Hole-in-One!!!! WOW!
