November 26, 2007 - It's great to be back at University Park CC! Check out this story on Jenny Hansen - one of this year's Sports Illustrated nominees for Sportsman of the Year. Many of you have heard me talk about Jenny and some of you had the opportunity to meet her when she was here with me last winter working on her game.
August 20, 2007 - Sue played in two pro-am events in the Red Carpet Premiere Celebrity Golf Classic event at Apple Mountain Resort in Freeland, MI on Aug. 16 & 17. The event benefitted Covenant Health Care. On Thursday, Sue played the par-3 5th hole with each group in the Ladies Pro-Am and the second day, she teamed up with Jerry Berg for the third year in a row. August 14, 2007 - Sue and Val spent their day off at the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, MI with Sue's mom (Carol), niece (Allison Wing) and nephew (Sean). Sue, Val and Allison took to the air on the zip line! Next year, Carol and Sean may go too!

August 13, 2007 - Here's a little bit of what we've been doing this past month! Sue and her pro-am team of Wendy's suppliers at the Wendy's Charity Challenge at The Country Club of Jackson in Jackson Michigan. University Park members Barb & Rann Lincoln came out to watch Sue play in the Wendy's Charity Challenge. They are former members of the Country Club of Jackson and drove over from Kalamazoo for the day.

University Park members Beth and Dave Salzman took a day off from family vacation at Lake Winnepesaukee (NH) to come and watch Sue play in the BJ's Charity Championship in Quincy, MA. August 3, 2007 - Sue enjoyed reuniting with her 2006 Pro-Am Team in this year's BJ's Charity Pro-Am at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA. George Sergi was a was a new member on the team this year. It was great day with our BJ's hosts and a couple of their frozen food suppliers. July 25, 2007 - Sue and Val were guests of Terri DeBoer and her daughter Jacqueline at their home club Railside CC in Byron Center, MI. Terri finished her on-air Tuesday morning & noon meteorology duties at NBC affiliate WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids and then came to play the back nine with us.
We wish Jacqueline good luck this fall as she and her South Christian High golf team defend their state championship title. Pictured from left to right:

July 18, 2007 - Sue finished tied for 7th in the Michigan Women's Open with rounds of 75-70-73 (+2) on the Mountain Ridge Course at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, MI.
July 14, 2007 - Sue's Pro-Am team in the Michigan PGA Women's Open was Fan-tastic! Every member of the the team was either an Michigan State graduate or currently working at the University. Beyond the Spartan hats, shirts, handbags and woodcovers in the photo below, the carts for this group were decorated with MSU flags, windsocks and even windchimes. Some observers even thought they saw green blood on the ankles of those team members who returned from the woods after looking for golf balls! From left to right:

June 25, 2007 - Sue's on vacation this week - Salt Lake City... Cedar Breaks... Zion's Kolob Canyons... Mesquite, NV... and Las Vegas. Will be back in the Midwest on July 2nd.
June 14, 2007 - Sue's bid to qualify for the US Women's Open fell short during the second stage of the US Women's Open qualfying tournament in Glen Ellyn, IL on Monday.
May 30, 2007 - Sue tied for second in the Connecticut Women's Open held May 29th & 30th at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington, CT. Sue is pictured with fellow 2nd place finisher Susan Fasoldt, who also happens to be from Sarasota (Stoneybrook). If you're looking for game improvement tips, you might want to consider changing your name to Susan, as the top four finishers all had that in common! Results
May 14, 2007 - Sue shot a 2-over-par 74 at Imperial Golf Club in Naples, FL on Monday to advance to the 36-hole Sectional qualifying round of the U.S. Women's Open. 10 - 15 mph winds made the 95 degree heat almost pleasant! Of the 117 players who competed, 28 advance to one of the seven Sectional qualifying sites. Sue will travel to Glen Ellyn, IL for the June 11 competition. The U.S. Women's Open will be held at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC June 28 - July 1. View the results.
April 30, 2007 - Sue played in the Legends Tour Duane Reade Charity Pro-Am at Ridgewood C.C. (est. 1890) in Paramus, NJ. Mark Shumacher of Duane Reade entertained his three guests from Wyeth Consumer. Ridgewood C.C., like Baltusrol, is an A.W. Tillinghast designed course.

April 29, 2007 - Springfield, NJ -- Sue was the guest of University Park member John (and Nancy) Cook at their northern golf club Baltusrol (est. 1895). Baltusrol has played host to the Women's US Open, the Men's US Amateur, the Men's US Open and most recently, the 2005 PGA Championship won by Phil Mickelson on the Lower Course. Jack Nicklaus won both the 1967 and 1980 US Open Championships at Baltusrol.

April 28, 2007 - Sue played with University Park member Nancy Cook on the famed Lower Course at Baltusrol. Nancy and her fellow Baltusrol members "directed" Sue around the damp and beautiful 6700 yard layout.
